Rough Animator App Lets You Animate On Your Tablet
Let’s say you’re sitting in a coffeeshop and the urge overtakes you to whip out a walk cycle. New York City-based filmmaker Jacob Kafka has designed the solution for people who can’t stop animating: the Rough Animator app.
Kafka has just released an updated Android version of Rough Animator, which he bills as a “fully featured hand drawn animation program…powerful enough for professional animators, easy enough for beginners.” Priced at $2.99 and available for both Android and iOS, Rough Animator contains the following features:
- Fully control timing of drawings on timeline
- Unlimited layers
- Onion skinning
- Preview playback
- Scrub along timeline
- Import audio for lip syncing
- Adjustable brushes
- Supports Galaxy Note S-Pen and other pressure sensitive Android devices
- Control framerate and resolution
- Export to Quicktime video, GIF, or image sequence
- RoughAnimator projects can be imported to Adobe Flash or After Effects
