The two former Disney executives have both previously been touted as possible replacements for CEO Bob Iger when his contract is up in 2026.
It’s the second Moonbug acquisition this year; in February the company purchased the Little Angel Youtube franchise.
In other news, Mayer has been tapped to consult on Discovery’s upcoming merger with Warnermedia.
The new offices “enable storytellers to tap Weta’s production pipeline and work with concept designers, animation supervisors, and other key creatives,” says CEO Prem Akkaraju.
