‘Memoir of a Snail’ opens today in Los Angeles and New York City, before expanding more widely next month.
Both films have emerged as key Oscar contenders in the animated feature and short categories.
Two other animated films also received special jury mentions at the festival: the feature ‘Olivia & Las Nubes’ and the short ‘Dragfox.’
The festival is set to take place in Los Angeles from October 18-20.
IFC Films will launch the film theatrically in the U.S. on October 25.
