DNEG Animation Promotes Crosby Clyse To Managing Director, Appoints Former Pixar Manager David Park As Head Of Production
DNEG Animation, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year, has promoted Crosby Clyse to the role of managing director and hired former Pixar vet David Park as the unit’s new head of production.
Clyse joined DNEG Animation in 2016 and previously served as the company’s head of production. He was involved in establishing the unit’s pipeline and processes when the animation division was still young, and he has since overseen the delivery of all the unit’s titles, including Ron’s Gone Wrong, Entergalactic, Nimona, and Under the Boardwalk. In his new role, Clyse will manage DNEG’s global animation production and oversee its slate of projects.
Park is a former Pixar production manager whose credits include features such as Coco, Monsters University, Toy Story 3, Wall-E, and Ratatouille. A DNEG newcomer, Park joins the company from Passion Pictures, where he served as head of production. Before his time at Passion, Park worked at Locksmith Animation, where he collaborated with DNEG on Locksmith’s first animated feature, Ron’s Gone Wrong.
DNEG CEO Namit Malhotra said of the animation appointments:
This spring, we will be celebrating DNEG Animation’s 10 Year Anniversary and the great successes that the team has already achieved. As we embark on the next phase of our journey and a new slate of exciting productions and client partnerships, I know that DNEG Animation will be in good hands under the leadership of Crosby, David, and the rest of the senior team. The quality bar that the team sets is always of the highest level, and they continue to push the boundaries in character animation and the unique and distinct looks that they create for every project that they undertake. I would like to thank and congratulate the whole DNEG Animation crew on 10 incredible years and many more to come. This is just the beginning.
Recent DNEG Animation productions include Netflix’s Nimona and Entergalactic, and the company is handling animation on Sony Pictures Entertainment’s upcoming The Garfield Movie.
