‘Mr. Piggy Dies in 25 Dimensions’ Selected As Cartoon Brew’s Student Fest Grand Prize Winner
We are pleased to announce that Cartoon Brew’s fifth annual Student Animation Festival will launch tomorrow, August 5th, with the grand-prize winning work Mr. Piggy Dies in 25 Dimensions by Josh Sehnert.
As the grand prize winner, Rhode Island School of Design grad Josh Sehnert will receive a Microsoft Surface Pro tablet in addition to the $700 prize that all of the other filmmakers in the festival will receive.
The Grand Prize winner was selected this year by guest judge John Dilworth (creator of Courage the Cowardly Dog and Dirdy Birdy). Explaining his reason for choosing the film, Dilworth said, “I selected Mr. Piggy Dies in 25 Dimensions to encourage the mind of the artist who made a work from contemporary culture as a distillation process.”
After tomorrow’s launch, the rest of the fantastic films in our student festival will debut exclusively on Cartoon Brew on Mondays and Thursdays throughout the month of August.
Cartoon Brew’s Student Animation Festival is made possible by the generous support of our Presenting Sponsor JibJab, and award sponsor Microsoft.
