‘The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild,’ The 6th ‘Ice Age’ Film, Gets A Trailer
The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, the first Ice Age feature since 2016 and the sixth overall in the Blue Sky Studios-created franchise, will be released on Disney+ on January 28, 2022.
Disney, which acquired the franchise as part of its 21st Century Fox deal, has released a trailer for the film, which will focus on the Simon Pegg-voiced weasel Buck, who first appeared in the franchise’s third film, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs:
This is the first Ice Age film made outside of Blue Sky Studios, which Disney shut down earlier this year. The studio that made the film is Vancouver-headquartered Bardel Entertainment, which is known for its work on tv series like The Dragon Prince, Rick & Morty, and King Julien.
The director’s chair, however, does include one Ice Age veteran: John C. Donkin, a producer on the Ice Age franchise who is now making his feature directorial debut. The film’s other director is industry veteran Marshall Fels Elliott, who was most recently the supervising storyboard director on Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty.
Buck Wild was scripted by tv writers Ray DeLaurentis and William Schifrin, who have collaborated frequently with Butch Hartman on series like Fairly Oddparents, T.U.F.F. Puppy, and Bunsen is A Beast.
