Netflix has announced that a new stop-motion Pokémon series is in the works with a short, sun-drenched teaser released today.

Series details:

  • Pokémon Concierge is the first collaboration between The Pokémon Company and Netflix, with animation set to be handled by Japan’s Dwarf. Dwarf is best known for producing the popular Domo series for NHK and Nickelodeon.
  • Logline: Expanding the Pokémon world, the story follows Haru, a concierge at the ‘Pokémon Resort,’ and her interactions with Pokémon and their owners who visit as guests.
  • Minyoung Kim, Netflix vp of content in Asia, said in a release: “Netflix is looking forward to delighting fans in Japan and around the world with Pokémon Concierge, an entirely new visual and storytelling experience featuring ground-breaking stop-motion animation set in the Pokémon world in close collaboration with The Pokémon Company.”
  • Netflix has close ties to the Pokémon franchise. In 2021, the company revealed it was in early development on a live-action Pokémon series from Lucifer co-showrunner Joe Henderson. The streamer is also the home to all episodes of the Pokémon tv series episodes.
