Peacock Orders Its First Original Adult Animation Series ‘In The Know’ From Mike Judge
NBCUniversal-owned streamer Peacock is getting into original adult animation with its first commission, and has enlisted a legend in the field to help them do so.
Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-Head, King of the Hill) will team with Silicon Valley alum Zach Woods (The Office, The Lego Ninjago Movie) to create, executive produce, and star in a new series titled In the Know, which received a straight-to-series order from the streamer.
Details:
- Judge is keeping plenty busy as of late. This summer, the feature Beavis and Butt-Head do the Universe preceded a rebooting of the original Beavis and Butt-Head series on Paramount+. He and Greg Daniels, who will produce In the Know, are also teaming with Sacha Baron Cohen on Chelm: The Smartest Place on Earth for HBO Max and Cartoon Network, Nicole Silverberg on Bad Crimes at Netflix, and Praise Petey (working title) at Disney, all announced this year.
- In the Know synopsis: Lauren Caspian is NPR’s third most popular host. He’s a well-meaning, hypocritical nimrod, just like you and me. He’s also a stop motion puppet. Each episode follows the making of an episode of Lauren’s show In the Know, in which Lauren conducts in-depth interviews with real world human guests. Lauren collaborates with a diverse crew of NPR staff. They are also puppets and nimrods.
- The series comes from studio Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, and executive producers Bandera Entertainment.
- Brandon Gardner will co-create and executive produce along with Judge and Woods. Longtime Judge associate Greg Daniels (The Office) and Dustin Davis will executive produce for Bandera Entertainment.
- Lisa Katz, president of scripted content at NBCUniversal Television and Streaming said: “In the Know will capture the conversations so many of us have in our daily lives in a heightened, hilarious way. We’re excited to be working with the very best in the business in Mike, Greg, Zach and Brandon, and our partners at Universal Television.”
