Apple TV+ Debuts Trailer For Its First Original ‘Peanuts’ Holiday Special
Apple TV+ has released a trailer for Snoopy Presents: For Auld Lang Syne, its first new original Peanuts holiday special made as part of its expanded partnership with Wildbrain.
The special follows Lucy, who after experiencing a disappointing Christmas due to the absence of her grandmother, resolves to throw the best New Year’s Eve party ever for the entire Peanuts gang. Meanwhile, Charlie Brown struggles to accomplish just one of his resolutions before the clock strikes twelve. Auld Lang Syne be available globally on Friday, December 10:
Animation veteran Clay Kaytis (The Christmas Chronicles, The Angry Birds Movie) directs from a script that he co-wrote with Alex Galatis and Scott Montgomery.
Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz, and Cornelius Uliano serve as executive producers alongside Paige Braddock for Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates, and Josh Scherba, Stephanie Betts, Amir Nasrabadi, and Anne Loi for Wildbrain Studios.
Additionally, on December 3, Apple TV+ will re-release It’s Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown, the 1992 tv special that was the first Christmas-themed Peanuts special since the 1965 classic A Charlie Brown Christmas, which is already available on Apple’s service.
As part of its partnership with Wildbrain, Peanuts Worldwide, and Lee Mendelson Film Productions, Apple TV+ has invested in producing a significant amount of original Peanuts content, including The Snoopy Show, the Snoopy in Space shorts series, and the documentary special Who Are You, Charlie Brown? At least three other Peanuts specials are currently in various stages of development and production.
