February may be the shortest month of the year, but plenty of new animation is headed our way on several of the big streaming platforms.

Netflix is getting new seasons of several fan favorites including Aggretsuko and Oddballs, but it’s the series premiere of My Dad the Bounty Hunter that looks like the most exciting February debut for the platform. Created by Everett Downing Jr. and Patrick Harpin, animation was handled by Dwarf Animation Studio in France.

Disney+’s big February premiere is Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur, a kids and family show about Lunella, a super-genius teenager who befriends a dinosaur from another dimension. Featuring animation by Australia’s Flying Bark, the show has a unique screen-printed aesthetic that we’re excited to see more of when it’s available to stream on February 15, five days after its February 10 Disney Channel premiere.

HBO Max will debut Poor Devil, a Spanish adult animated series about the son of Satan who relocates from Hell to New York in hopes of becoming an actor. The platform will also release a Harley Quinn Valentine’s Day special ahead of the holiday.

And be sure not to miss the streaming premiere of On-Gaku: Our Sound, a wild punk rock musical feature from Japan that impressed at several global festivals back in 2019. Criterion will be streaming the film starting on February 1.

A few notes on the list: The list includes announcements for new seasons of existing shows, however, we do not list new episode releases of existing seasons, as some streamers roll out new episodes in monthly batches. Streamers also often announce new animation releases mid-month. Our guide only catalogs what the streamers announce at the beginning of the month, but, when possible, we try to update the schedule if there are mid-month announcements. The list only includes content premiering on the U.S. versions of these services.
