Streaming November 2023 Streaming November 2023

Two years ago, we started publishing a monthly guide of the streaming debuts of as many animated films, series, and specials as we could track.

In the months and years since, new streamers have appeared on the scene, others have changed the way they report upcoming release dates, and just about all of them have started announcing new titles during the month of their release.

These changes have made tracking animation debuts far more difficult than it once was, while also necessitating constant maintenance to the guide. So, we’re making some changes to our streaming guide format.

Instead of a (mostly) exhaustive list each month, we’ll highlight a handful of interesting titles headed to major streaming platforms and explain why they caught our eye. If there is anything coming in November that you’re particularly excited about, please let us know in the comments.

Here are a few standout titles coming to Netflix, Hulu, Max, and Prime Video in November.

Netflix

Netflix typically adds the most original animation to its lineup each month, and November is no different. Perhaps its highest-profile debut will be Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, an anime adaptation of the popular graphic novel and feature film franchise. The series is animated by Tokyo-based studio Science Saru and executive produced by the original film’s director, Edgar Wright. It premieres on November 17.

Debuting November 3, Blue Eye Samurai mixes 2d and cg animation to tell the Edo-period story of a mixed-race samurai master out for revenge. The show is created, written, and executive produced by Amber Noizumi and Michael Green and Jane Wu supervising director. Green, who shared an Oscar nomination for co-writing Logan, is also showrunner. France’s Blue Spirit is the animation studio.

Prime Video

Invincible has been one of Prime Video’s most successful original series, animation or otherwise. The cultural impact of season one was immense, and there are surely scores of fans looking forward to season two’s arrival on November 3.

Max

One of Adult Swim’s most emblematic animated series, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, will return with five episodes on November 27. The series picks up where season 11 left off back in 2015 and will see Master Shake, Frylock, and Meatwad go head-to-head with AI appliances, start a rock band, and get caught up in an Egyptian pyramid scheme.

Hulu

Hulu will introduce U.S. audiences to a pair of important international features that overachieved at their local box offices. The Ukrainian feature Mavka: The Forest Song opened in its home territory on March 2 and grossed UAH 24.9 million ($680,912) over its debut weekend. That was more than Avatar: The Way of Water sold during its opening weekend. It will be available on Hulu starting November 9.

Produced by Quebec studio 10th Ave Productions, Katak the Brave Beluga was a local box office hit, grossing over CAD$1.45 million (USD$1 million) in Quebec. Hulu subscribers can stream the film starting November 28.
