Animation Coming To Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, Peacock, And More In March 2022
It is again a light month for new animation streaming content, but relative to the pre-streaming era, there’s still plenty of animation to keep viewers busy.
While most of the new animation skews toward preschool and children, there’s a handful of offerings for older audiences, such as Netflix’s Human Resources and Hulu’s Dicktown. We’re also intrigued by the hybrid concert special Adam by Eve: A Live in Animation (Netflix), featuring new songs by Japanese artist Eve and segments directed by Hibiki Yoshizaki (Me!Me!Me!) and Waboku (Sion).
The biggest release of the month is, of course, the new Pixar feature Turning Red, which is debuting exclusively on Disney+. It’s the third straight Pixar original to be released straight-to-streaming. The strategy has worked well for Disney – not only have the Pixar films generated strong viewership on Disney+, but they’ve helped placate subscribers who have noted that Disney’s service has limited offerings compared to other streamers.
A note on the list: streamers often announce new animation releases mid-month. Our guide only catalogs what the streamers announce at the beginning of the month, but when possible we try to update the schedule if there are mid-month announcements. If there are other U.S. streaming services you’d like to see added to our line-up, share a comment below.
