Top Story: ‘The Wild Robot’ And ‘Arcane’ Lead 52nd Annie Award Nominations

Canada is in the news a lot nowadays, so here’s one more Canada-related tidbit.

Starting this fall, Cartoon Brew will begin ramping up its coverage of Canadian animation news, and especially the Montreal scene, which is arguably the fastest-growing city in North America for visual effects, feature animation, and gaming, not to mention the headquarters of the National Film Board of Canada, which has an 80-year legacy of producing trailblazing animated shorts.

Our new outpost up north is in large part due to the support of the arts-friendly government in Canada, which has supported Cartoon Brew’s bid to establish a presence in the country.

Your editor-in-chief – that’s me – will be based full-time out of Montreal, Canada. Cartoon Brew will remain an American company with a new branch opening in Canada.

I’ve already had the pleasure of meeting with numerous studios, artists, and writers here in Montreal, but look forward to connecting with more of you as I’ve got a lot to learn. Please drop me a line here if you want to connect, or simply want to teach me how hockey works.
