A couple months ago, during the height of the coronavirus lockdown, the Instagram page Motion Appétit! and Argentinian studio Buda.tv put out a call to the international creative community to come together for a collaborative animation jam that would bring people closer together.

The goal of the project was to “create the tallest, loudest and most positive building in the digital world, full of great artists,” as well as to pay tribute to the medical staff who were battling the coronavirus. Over 500 artists responded to the call, each of them creating a balcony of positive energy. All of the individual contributions and credits can be seen on the project’s Instagram page.

Afterward the organizers took it one step further, and compiled 227 of the submissions into a seamlessly edited film, Stay Home, Stay Positive, that is dedicated to “all the heroes who fought against the COVID-19 pandemic.” Besides being a generous tribute to medical workers, the resulting film is also a fun catalog of the diversity of animation production currently happening around the globe. It launched online yesterday and can be viewed below:
