Donald Duck on Hot Ones Donald Duck on Hot Ones

As part of Donald Duck’s 90th birthday celebration, the classic Disney character appeared on the online celebrity interview show Hot Ones, hosted by Sean Evans. The series is produced by Buzzfeed’s First We Feast Label and Complex Media.

Rather than follow the show’s usual format of having celebrities eat spicy chicken wings, Donald opted to not eat his fellow fowl and chose to put his hot sauce over veggie cauliflower “wings.”

The show also features a cameo by Mickey Mouse. “Mickey Mouse and his friends, including Donald Duck have always been a part of popular culture so it only made sense that Donald and Mickey appear on one of the most recognized internet shows with celebrity guests,” said Tim Pennoyer, director of brand marketing for The Walt Disney Company.

The animation was handled by Walt Disney Animation Studios and directed by Eric Goldberg. Donald is voiced by Tony Anselmo, and Mickey is voiced by Bret Iwan.

“It’s been a great honor to direct two of our greatest stars, Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse, on this special episode of Hot Ones,” Goldberg said in a statement. “Of course, Donald can get a bit cranky at times, but all of the artists involved loved animating him!”
