Moonbot Reveals Trailer for Annie-Nominated Short ‘The Raven’
Shreveport, Louisiana-based Moonbot Studios is not just Oscar-shortlisted for their film The Numberlys, they’re also currently nominated for two Annie Awards for the shorts Silent and The Raven. A trailer was released today for the 11-minute Raven:
Directed by Brandon Oldenburg (The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore) and Limbert Fabian (Chipotle’s The Scarecrow), the film is an adaptation of the Edgar Allan Poe classic of the same name. “Visually, The Raven was intended to feel like a waking dream,” says co-director Limbert Fabian. “We wanted viewers to follow the narrator’s increasing distress as his subconscious takes control.”
Moonbot has also wrapped a second Poe film, The Cask of Amontillado, directed by William Joyce and Joe Bluhm. Both of the Poe shorts were commissioned by the e-learning company Amplify, which will use the films as part of their seventh grade curriculum.
