Max has dropped the trailer for its upcoming sci-fi thriller animated series Scavengers Reign, coming to the platform on October 19.

Scavengers Reign is one of the more exciting animated productions set to debut this year. The show was co-created and executive-produced by Joe Bennett (From God’s Mouth to Your Ears) and Charles Huettner (Ghost Stories) and is adapted from their fantastic 2016 short Scavengers. In fact, some of the shots were directly recreated for the series.

Series details:

  • Max will premiere the show’s first three episodes on October 19 at midnight PT and release three new episodes each week through November 9.
  • Benjy Brooke is the show’s supervising director and executive producer. Vincent Tsui directs. Animation for Scavengers Reign was handled by Titmouse, where Chris Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, Shannon Prynoski, and Ben Kalina were also executive producers. Sean Buckelew and James Merrill were co-executive producers for Green Street Pictures.
  • Scavengers Reign follows the surviving crew members of a damaged deep space freighter stranded on a beautiful yet unforgiving planet. As the small group uncovers the true nature of this planet, they must do everything in their power to survive long enough to escape or be rescued.
  • The show’s voice cast features Wunmi Mosaku, Bob Stephenson, Sunita Mani, Ted Travelstead, and Alia Shawkat.
  • Over the summer, one of the show’s episodes, “The Wall,” screened in competition at the Annecy festival, where it won a jury award.
