Nickelodeon has revealed it is rebooting one of its most popular animated franchises of the last 20 years, The Fairly OddParents, with a new iteration titled Fairly OddParents: A New Wish that will feature the original show’s principal voice cast.

Twenty episodes of the new series will begin airing on Nickelodeon this spring in the U.S. and will be available internationally on Netflix later this year.

In July of last year, Cosmo voice actor Daran Norris appeared on Ned’s Declassified Podcast Survival Guide and confirmed that a new Fairly OddParents series was in development. Norris is back for the new show and will be joined by returning Wanda voice actor Susanne Blakeslee and newcomer Ashleigh Crystal Hairston, who will voice a new character.

Nickelodeon says franchise reboot will extend the Fairy Universe to a new generation of viewers while also honoring Butch Hartman’s original series, which ran for 172 episodes from 2001-2017. Hartman will serve as an executive producer on the new show.

Fairly OddParents: A New Wish series details:

  • Synopsis: “In Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, ten-year-old Hazel Wells has just moved to the big city of Dimmadelphia because of her dad’s new job. All that changes when the pink-and-green-haired neighbors next door reveal that they are no ordinary neighbors…they’re Cosmo and Wanda, fairy godparents! And they’re coming out of retirement to make all of Hazel’s wishes come true.”
