Coming Soon To Streaming: ‘Olaf Presents,’ ‘Marvel’s Hit-Monkey,’ ‘Harriet The Spy’ (Trailers)

Which is why we’ve started a new series of articles to spotlight upcoming series worthy of a little extra attention, whether because of how they look, what they’re about, or who made them. Read on for our picks for November …
Olaf Presents
What is it? If you’ve watched Frozen, you’ll have a good idea of what this is and whether you want to watch it. Olaf, the franchise’s cheery snowman sidekick, retells Disney classics like Moana and The Little Mermaid in a series of shorts. Josh Gad returns to voice him.
Who made it? The shorts are produced at Walt Disney Animation Studios. Disney animator Hyrum Osmond, Olaf’s supervising animator on Frozen, directs, and Jennifer Newfield produces.
Where and when can I watch it? The series premieres on Disney+ on November 12.
Marvel’s Hit-Monkey
What is it? The second of two adult animated series produced by the dwindling Marvel Television for Hulu, after this year’s M.O.D.O.K. (two other series in a planned quartet have been axed). The titular snow monkey, who first appeared in comics form in 2010, goes on a rampage through the yakuza underworld after his tribe is slaughtered.
Who made it? Hit-Monkey is co-created by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, who are known for directing live-action comedies like series The Power Inside and feature Blades of Glory. They are executive-producing alongside Joe Quesada. Atlanta-based Floyd County Productions is handling the animation production.
Where and when can I watch it? The series premieres on Hulu on November 17.
Harriet the Spy
What is it? The first animated take on Louse Fitzhugh’s classic 1964 novel, which centers on an 11-year-old girl with a talent for writing and a penchant for spying on her schoolmates. It will hit the nostalgia key for multiple generations, including my own cohort of people who remember the Nickelodeon movie of the 1990s. Beanie Feldstein (Booksmart) voices Harriet.
Who made it? The Jim Henson Company and Rehab Entertainment are producing the show, with Will McRobb (The Adventures of Pete & Pete) writing and serving as an executive producer. Animation is by Titmouse.
Where and when can I watch it? The series launches on Apple TV+ on November 19.
