Vancouver Animation School Launches Production Management Course
There are plenty of educational programs that teach people how to create animation, but far fewer that teach how to produce animation. That’s the value proposition of Vancouver Animation School’s new Production Management in Digital Entertainment course.
The new one-year online program specializes in learning how to oversee an entire production for animation, visual effects, and video games. The program will teach students how to oversee digital artists, schedule productions, coordinate digital processes, formulate budgets, and effectively create, organize, and optimize digital assets.
Through lectures, readings, and practical exercises, students will learn the basics of planning, executing, and controlling projects. The course covers topics such as project scope, pipeline basics, breakdowns, and other business production-related aspects.
Teachers include Neha Pasricha, who has worked on productions such as The Dog & Pony Show and Daniel Spellbound, and Kajal Patil, whose credits include Sausage Party: Foodtopia, Happy House of Frightenstein, and Alice’s Wonderland Bakery.
The school is currently soliciting applications for the program, which begins on September 23. A free webinar to introduce the new course will take place on Wednesday, September 11, at 12 pm Pacific.
Base tuition costs between $18,500-$24,500 Canadian (USD$13,600-$18,000). More details can be found on the school’s website.
