Amazon Studios Greenlights 3 New Animated Kids’ Pilots
Amazon Studios, which produces original content for the streaming site Amazon Prime, has announced production on three new animated kids’ pilots.
Buddy: Tech Detective, a preschool whodunit called written by Jennifer Hamburg (Henry Hugglemonster, Super Why!) and produced by The Foundation and Jellyfish Animation Limited.
The Stinky and Dirty Show, an adaptation of “I Stink!” book series by Jim and Kate McMullan. The show, which follows the friendship between a garbage truck and a backhoe loader, is being written by Guy Toubes’ (Littlest Pet Shop, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi) and animated by Brown Bag Films, Ltd.
Niko and the Sword of Light, a series version of the animated comic book produced by Imaginism Studios and StudioNX. It will be written by Rob Hoegee (Slugterra, Generator Rex), animated by Titmouse, and will feature the voice talents of Tom Kenny and Jim Cummings.
Amazon Studios’ development process allows Amazon customers to vote on which projects move forward in development. After these three pilots—along with two other live-action pilots—debut early next year, viewers can weigh in on which ones are brought to full series and streamed on Amazon Prime.
