Now What!? Now What!?

Now What!?, a new non-profit launched by Six Point Harness founder/CEO Brendan Burch, is “dedicated to encouraging young people to engage in the political process through laughter and compelling narratives.”

“We want to meet young people where they are, and that means leaning in to humor and smart storytelling to tackle tough subjects,” Burch said in a statement. “We’re aiming to bring the same energy and variety of Adult Swim-style cartoons, but doing it specifically to inspire young voters. Our mission is both to entertain and to educate, but above all to remind people that their vote is a powerful tool that shapes the future.”

The organization launched today its first series of shorts on Youtube. The cartoons are directed by industry artists Kate Purdy, Amy Hewett, and Grant Lindahl, and focus on issues like reproductive rights, voter supression, and gun control. A fourth short about wealth inequality is set to debut later this month. Watch the short Stop It with the Voting, directed by Purdy (Undone, Bojack Horseman), below:

The organization is registered as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and is raising money through its website to produce additional shorts with partner studios that include Titmouse, Oddbot, Nathan Love, and Powerhouse Animation.

Now What!?’s board includes a list of prominent film and animation industry workers including Ollie Green, Jennika Grisius, Matt Danner, Duke Logan, Wendy Willis, David Hickton, and Samantha Scharff.
