It’s hard to believe that it’s been 19 years since the last feature-length outing of Britain’s favorite stop-motion duo, but Wallace & Gromit are finally back in a new feature, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.

Netflix this morning released a teaser trailer and announced that the film will be released globally for streaming on January 3, 2025. The only exception is in the U.K. where it will premiere on BBC iPlayer and BBC One on Christmas Day.

Vengeance Most Fowl is directed by Nick Park, who created the characters, and Merlin Crossingham, who is a 30-year veteran of the studio. Mark Burton (Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Shaun the Sheep Movie, Early Man) wrote the screenplay from a story by himself and Park.

It had previously been announced that Feathers McGraw, the villainous chicken penguin first introduced in the 1993 W&G short The Wrong Trousers, will play a central role in the new film. Per the film’s synopsis:

Gromit’s concern that Wallace is becoming too dependent on his inventions proves justified, when Wallace invents a “smart” gnome that seems to develop a mind of its own. When it emerges that a vengeful figure from the past might be masterminding things, it falls to Gromit to battle sinister forces and save his master… or Wallace may never be able to invent again!

Key credits that have been announced include Matt Perry (production design), Dave Alex Riddett (director of photography), Dan Hembery (editor), and Lorne Balfe and Julian Nott (original score).

Richard Beek produced. Park, Burton, Sarah Cox, Peter Lord, and Carla Shelley executive produced.
