‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’ Gets First Full Trailer
Welcome back to the Spider-Verse.
Sony Pictures Animation has dropped the first full-length trailer for one of 2023’s most anticipated animated features, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which will swing into theaters on June 2, 2023.
Film details:
- A sequel to the best animated feature Oscar winner Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), this film is once again produced by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who co-wrote the screenplay with Dave Callaham. Across the Spider-Verse is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson.
- The trio of directors attended this year’s Annecy festival, where they gave an early look at what fans can expect from the sequel and unveiled Spidey’s new villain, The Spot. After the presentation, all three sat down with Cartoon Brew to discuss their work on the latest Spider-Verse film in a video interview which can be seen here.
- Over the past several months, producers and filmmakers attached to the film have boasted that Across the Spider-Verse boasts the largest crew ever assembled for an animated movie, features more than 240 characters, and takes place in at least 6 different universes. From today’s trailer, it looks like Spideys from dozens of other universes will also participate in an epic battle royal.
- Across the Spider-Verse synopsis: After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders, and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.
