The Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF), the longest-running animation festival in North America, has unveiled the feature film selections for its 47th edition.

This year, seven “under-the-radar” animated feature films have been selected for competition. Says OIAF artistic director (and Cartoon Brew writer) Chris Robinson, “From environmental dystopia (White Plastic Sky), immigration (No Dogs or Italians Allowed), and civil war (Nayola) to coming-of-age tales (When Adam Changes, Unicorn Boy, Chicken for Linda!) and some touching insight into the world of gaming environments (Knit’s Island), this year’s crop of feature competitors has something for everyone.”

The seven selected features are:

At the time of selection, three of the features – Adam change lentement, Chicken for Linda!, White Plastic Sky – will make their Canadian debuts at the festival.

Notably, Chicken for Linda!, which was recently, acquired in North America by GKIDS, won multiple awards at Annecy last month, including the festival’s top feature prize. Meanwhile, Unicorn Boy premiered earlier this year at Slamdance, while White Plastic Sky debuted at Berlin.

OIAF will take place in person from September 20–24.
