Top Story: ‘The Wild Robot’ And ‘Arcane’ Lead 52nd Annie Award Nominations

Illumination’s The Grinch will get a boost from the studio’s good luck charm, Pharrell Williams, set to serve as the film’s narrator. Williams has provided music for all three of the studio’s Despicable Me films, including the Oscar-nominated mega-hit “Happy” that appeared in the second film of the franchise.

A new trailer for the film adaptation of the Dr. Seuss children’s classic was released today:

While the trailer doesn’t feature Williams, it does offer a new take on “You’re A Mean One,” which is performed by Tyler, the Creator, who collaborated on the song with the film’s composer Danny Elfman. Tyler, the Creator also writes and performs an original song for the film, “I Am The Grinch.”

New addition to the voice is Angela Lansbury, who will voice The Mayor of Whoville. Other key voices are Benedict Cumberbatch as The Grinch, as well as Rashida Jones, Keenan Thompson, and Cameron Seely.

The Grinch is directed by Scott Mosier and Yarrow Cheney. It will be released in the U.S. on November 9, 2018.
