Hear Zachary Levi’s Take On Rocky In New ‘Dawn Of The Nugget’ Trailer
Ahead of the film’s December 15 release, Netflix has shared the full trailer for Aardman Animations’ upcoming stop-motion feature Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.
Netflix released a teaser for the Chicken Run (2000) sequel in September, but today’s trailer includes much more dialogue from Rocky, originally voice by Mel Gibson. Gibson was replaced for the sequel by Zachary Levi and the original Ginger voice actor Julia Sawalha was replaced by Thandiwe Newton.
Dawn of the Nugget premiered in October at the BFI London Film Festival, where it received a warm reception, although critics largely agreed that the sequel doesn’t quite live up to the high standards set by the first film.

- Dawn of the Nugget is directed by Sam Fell (ParaNorman, Flushed Away) and written by Karey Kirkpatrick, John O’Farrell, and Rachel Tunnard. It’s produced by Steve Pegram and Leyla Hobart and executive produced by Fell, Kirkpatrick, Paul Kewley, Nick Park, Peter Lord, and Carla Shelley.
- Netflix’s synopsis reads: Having pulled off a death-defying escape from Tweedy’s farm, Ginger has finally found her dream — a peaceful island sanctuary for the whole flock, far from the dangers of the human world. When she and Rocky hatch a little girl called Molly, Ginger’s happy ending seems complete. But back on the mainland, the whole of chicken-kind faces a new and terrible threat. For Ginger and her team, even if it means putting their own hard-won freedom at risk — this time, they’re breaking in!
