Nickelodeon, Pinkfong, and Paramount+ have released the trailer for their upcoming animated musical feature Baby Shark’s Big Movie, which will debut on December 8 on Nickelodeon and Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada.

The film unspools in the world of Baby Shark’s Big Show, which is based on Pinkfong’s “Baby Shark Dance,” one of the internet’s greatest animation success stories. Launched on Youtube in 2015, it became the first-ever video to hit 10 billion views, a feat that has not been repeated since. The original “Baby Shark Dance” video currently has 13.6 billion views.

  • Baby Shark’s Big Movie is directed by Daytime Creative Arts Emmy-winner Alan Foreman (The Casagrandes, Welcome to the Wayne) and written by Whitney Ralls (My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, Baby Shark’s Big Show). It’s co-produced by Nickelodeon Animation and The Pinkfong Company.
  • Synopsis: In Baby Shark’s Big Movie, Baby Shark is forced to leave behind the world he loves after his family’s move to the big city and must adjust to his new life without his best friend William. When Baby Shark encounters an evil pop starfish named Stariana, who plans to steal his gift of song in order to dominate all underwater music, he must break her spell to restore harmony to the seas.
  • Music for the film was composed by Jon Chau. Songs were written and produced by Matthew Tishler, Andrew Underberg, Chen Neeman, Doug Rockwell, Tova Litvin, and Pinkfong.
  • The film’s voice cast features newcomers Ashley Tisdale, Aparna Nancherla, Ego Nwodim, Chloe Fineman, Enhypen, and Lance Bass as well as franchise regulars Kimiko Glenn, Natasha Rothwell, Eric Edelstein, Debra Wilson, and Patrick Warburton.
