Ex-Fox Exec Andrea Miloro Joins Mikros Animation As President
Almost two years after leaving Fox Animation, Andrea Miloro has a new job: president of Mikros Animation.
The Technicolor-owned studio, which has locations in Paris, Montreal, L.A., and Bangalore, recently provided creative services on Paramount Animation’s The Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run. Other credits include the features Captain Underpants, The Little Prince, two Asterix films, and the forthcoming movies Paw Patrol: The Movie for Spinmaster and The Tiger’s Apprentice for Paramount Animation. Technicolor says it will expand the studio’s work on episodic content as well as features.
Miloro stepped down as co-president of Fox Animation in July 2019, shortly after Disney inherited the division as part of its acquisition of 21st Century Fox. (The division has since been renamed 20th Century Animation.) At Fox, Miloro had direct oversight of Blue Sky, which was fully shut last month. Other initiatives she was responsible for included a production partnership with British studio Locksmith, which has also been terminated.
At the time of her departure, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Miloro had been subjected to a human resources inquiry over “unprofessional behavior.”
Before being named co-president of Fox Animation, Miloro held various roles at Fox and Blue Sky, including senior creative/production executive at the latter. She managed both the creative and physical production of the studio’s
Epic and supervised production of custom animation for The Peanuts Movie. Prior to that, she was vp, head of production at Sony Pictures Animation. She has also worked at Digital Domain and Pacific Ocean Post, among other places.
In January, Technicolor announced that it was divesting its post-production services and doubling down on its vfx and cg animation business, which also includes The Mill, MPC, and Mr. X.
