Tonight in LA: Popeye Up The Wazoo (Gallery)
Popeye brings out the best in everybody. Tonight in Los Angeles is the opening of “Strong to the Finich! An Official Popeye Tribute Art Show” and there’s some rather attractive pieces in it. A lot of the show’s artwork can be seen at the show’s official Tumblr.
Curated by illustrator Chogrin, who also put together the recent “From Hanna-Barbera to Cartoon Network” art show, “Strong to the Finich!” will honor Popeye’s 85th anniversary with newly created artwork from over 100 artists. The opening is from 7-10pm at the Hero Complex Gallery (2020 South Robertson Blvd., Studio D, LA, CA 90034).
