Jorge Gutiérrez, Sandra Equihua, Chris Prynoski Among Speakers At Pixelatl 2021
Pixelatl has announced the first batch of speakers at its upcoming tenth edition, which will be held virtually on September 7–11. As usual, the Mexico-based event will feature a rich mix of Latin American and international guests.
Two of the headline speakers are Sandra Equihua and Jorge Gutiérrez, whose joint credits include Nickelodeon’s El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera and the feature The Book of Life, not to mention Pixelatl’s 2021 trailer.
They will be joined by Chris Prynoski, president and owner of Titmouse; Peter Lord, co-founder and creative director of Aardman Animations; Aphton Corbin, Pixar story artist (Toy Story 4, Soul, director of Sparkshorts film Twenty Something for Disney+); and others, listed below:
- Sofía Alexander, creator and executive producer of Onyx Equinox
- Kyle Balda, director of Minions: The Rise of Gru
- Aminder Dhaliwal, comic book author
- Mike Johnson, co-director of The Corpse Bride
- Kim Jung Gi, Korean drafstman
- Joel Aron, cinematography, lighting, and vfx director at Lucasfilm Animation
- Alex de Campi, comic book author
- Patricio Betteo, production designer at Netflix Animation
- Alfonso Blaas, production designer on 3Below: Tales of Arcadia
Pixelatl will host panels and activities from Nickelodeon, Netflix, Sony, Disney, and Bento Box, about which more will be announced soon. Workshops will be given by Mexican stop-motion studios Mo Makers, Bikini Studio, and Kraneo Studio, as well as Mexican storyboard artist Gustavo Cosio (Kid Cosmic, Maya and the Three). Like last year, there will also be screenings, networking opportunities, and more.
