Australian animation producer/distributor Glitch Productions will host the first edition of its indie animation streaming event, Glitch Expo (GlitchX), this week, featuring a star-studded lineup of viral animation creators.

GlitchX kicks off on Thursday, November 9, at 4:00 p.m. PST and will run for four-and-a-half hours, culminating in a special announcement at 8:15 p.m. PST. The full event will be live-streamed worldwide on the Glitch Youtube channel.

Featuring some of the biggest names from the indie scene, GlitchX will include artist Q&As, series spotlights, a voice-actors gameshow, and discussions between creators about the future of independent animation.

GlitchX guest creators include:

  • Liam Vickers (Murder Drones)
  • Gooseworx (The Amazing Digital Circus)
  • Tracy Butler (Lackadaisy)
  • David Axel Cazares Casanova, aka Sr Pelo (Spooky Month)
  • Vivienne Medrano, aka Vivziepop (Helluva Boss)

In a release, GlitchX organizers explained:

Indie animation helps challenge and force larger corporations to think outside the box and begin opening the space for diverse voices and storytelling. With the community continuing to grow and more and more creators hitting the scene, Glitch Productions is taking this chance to push this even further, give the artists the recognition they deserve, and connect with an amazing community that has made this industry what it is today.

Glitch Productions launched its popular Youtube channel in 2018 and now has more than 4.4 million subscribers and 300 million views. The studio produces five animated series: SMG4, Sunset Paradise, Meta Runner, Murder Drones, and The Amazing Digital Circus.

Each series has proved popular and boasts a dedicated fanbase, but Glitch’s profile skyrocketed after launching a pilot episode for The Amazing Digital Circus on October 14 this year. In the three weeks since its debut, the pilot has been viewed more than 76 million times and already accounts for a quarter of the channel’s all-time views.
