Watch The Trailer For Busifan’s Chinese Epic ‘The Storm,’ Touching Down In English-Language Territories This Weekend
CMC Pictures is releasing the animated Chinese epic The Storm in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, New Zealand this weekend.
The Storm is directed by indie filmmaker Zhigang Yang, more popularly referred to as Busifan, best known for directing the stunningly animated and surprisingly violent feature The Guardian.
Last week, distributor CMC Pictures posted an English-subtitled trailer for The Storm, which features vibrant and charming 2d animation in a Chinese ink painting style and impressive weather effects.
The film’s synopsis reads:
A torrential rain leads you into a colorful world of traditional Chinese ink art. A century-old sunken ship emerges, and mysterious theater troupes come to life again. With countless masks worn by people and a world filled with intricate changes, what kind of bizarre story is unfolding?
