Top Story: ‘The Wild Robot’ And ‘Arcane’ Lead 52nd Annie Award Nominations

Former Disney Animation and Pixar Animation chief creative officer John Lasseter was mentioned in a recent episode of the longrunning Showtime drama Shameless, during a scene in which bar owner Kevin is classifying the various sexual offenses of his regular patrons.

In the scene, Lasseter is described alongside other high-profile entertainment world figures who have been exposed or faced renewed scrutiny during the Me Too era including Harvey Weinstein, Kobe Bryant, Aziz Ansari, Bill Cosby, Louis CK, and Woody Allen.

Here’s the clip from “Do Right, Vote White!,” the fourth episode of the ninth season. It was written by tv veteran John Wells, who also takes a jab at Lasseter’s relative anonymity compared to the other harassers:

Lasseter remains on the Walt Disney Company payroll though he no longer works there. Last June, Jennifer Lee took over Lasseter’s role at Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Pete Docter succeeded Lasseter at Pixar.
