British Rapper Shao Dow Releases ‘Blue Lock’-Inspired Music Video ‘Striker’
Shao Dow’s latest music video, “Striker” (ft. Chrono), delivers a high-energy collision of characters, visuals, and rap, all inspired by the wildly popular manga and anime series Blue Lock.
This unique fusion of anime-inspired visuals (as well as some footage from Blue Lock itself) and dynamic lyricism highlights the global impact of anime while paying homage to Blue Lock’s intense themes.
At once a bass-backed, manic visual blender of live and animated footage, the driving concept seems to stem from striving for the top. Says Shao Dow: “Blue Lock is all about the mentality of becoming the very best, and that’s the mindset I’ve always had in music. In ‘Striker,’ I’m bringing that fire and focus; it’s all about that killer instinct. This is a celebration of pushing boundaries and never settling for anything less than greatness.”
The video also features cameo appearances from Drew Breedlove, the English-language voice actor for Bachira in Blue Lock, and Premier League star and Tottenham Hotspur striker Dom Solanke.
Shao Dow, a rapper and manga author, creates anime and gaming-inspired music, rapping in both English and Japanese. He has writen music for games such as Fortnite and God of War and has toured in the U.K., U.S., and Japan.
Dimas Raviandra created the artwork for the video, which was produced by Levi Edits and GLX.
