ASIFA-Hollywood is has announced its call for entries for the 49th Annie Awards, which will be held on February 26, 2022. Following last year’s virtual ceremony, the plan is to hold these awards in person, at UCLA’s Royce Hall.

Awards will be presented across 36 categories, five of them juried, like last year. Submissions close on Tuesday, November 16 at 5 p.m. PST. Head to ASIFA-Hollywood’s member portal for more information.

This edition sees tweaks to the rules concerning how series episodes are defined, how many names may be submitted as part of a team, and what submitted clips must consist of. For all rule changes, see here.

Industry professionals who wish to apply to join one of this year’s nominating committees — the juries that choose the nominees — have until September 21 to do so. Even those who have served as judges in the past must fill out an application, which can be done here.

The nominations and juried awards will be announced on December 21. The winners in the non-juried categories will be selected by ASIFA-Hollywood members who have fulfilled the criteria to vote.

At last year’s Annies, Pixar’s Soul and Cartoon Saloon’s Wolfwalkers divided up the feature awards. Silvergate Media’s Hilda, produced for Netflix, won the most awards of any series.
