Moonbug Entertainment has been on an acquisition spree. Over the past few years, it has bought a number of Youtube’s most popular preschool properties. Now it’s bringing its shows to Latin America.

The company has partnered with Warnermedia Latin America to distribute series on HBO Max. Over 230 episodes from Moonbug’s catalogue will be available in the region, in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. Shows will include Blippi, My Magic Pet Morphle, Little Baby Bum, and Mia’s Magic Playground.

Founded in 2018 and headquartered in London and L.A., Moonbug has made a business out of acquiring “fun and safe content” for preschoolers and building these properties up. Its shows end up on major streaming platforms, from Netflix to Hulu.

Some of its content ranks among the most-subscribed animation channels on Youtube, with Cocomelon (118 million subscribers) and Little Baby Bum (36.9 million) ranking first and seventh in our recent chart.

Andy Yeatman, Moonbug’s managing director of the Americas, said in a statement:

The Latin American market is vital to us at Moonbug, and this partnership with Warnermedia further underscores our goal of offering premium content to families around the globe. We are excited to broaden our viewership with such a prominent partner like Warnermedia Latin America, so more families throughout the region can engage and connect with our shows.

HBO Max launched in the U.S. last year, and began its global rollout by expanding to Latin America and the Caribbean in June this year. HBO and HBO Max jointly reported 67.5 million global subscribers at the end of June, with 47 million of that figure in the United States.
