Brussels-based cg animation app Swoove Studios has raised $7.5 million (€6.9 million) in a seed funding round led by European angel investors.

The company’s Swoove app, which CEO and co-founder Rudy Verbeeck, says is “the future of 3d animated storytelling,” uses an AI-powered proprietary platform that allows users to generate cg animation without any prior experience.

More details about the funding round:

  • The latest round brings the total raised to $11m since the company launched in 2020. With this new round of funding, the company has started a strategic review that could lead to additional investment or a possible sale of the business.
  • The company’s app, which was previously available in over a hundred countries, officially launched in the U.S. this month. The American launch is accompanied by a series of exclusive features and content, including the Swoove Marketplace, a new community where user-generated digital assets, such as clothes, can be bought and sold.
  • The company plans to use the new investment to scale the platform, as well as build opportunities for monetization and develop further integration with other services leading to new brand and platform partnerships.
