Two Animated Features Will Cross $1 Billion Box Office Mark For First Time Ever
Following a stellar launch last weekend in Germany, Disney/Pixar’s Finding Dory is now poised to cross the $1 billion mark within the next 10 days. When it does, it will become the first time in cinema history that two animated features have earned $1 billion globally in the same calendar year.

The Andrew Stanton-directed Finding Dory launched in Germany with $8.4 million, the biggest opening weekend this year in that territory. In Italy, the the film led the box office for the third weekend in a row, passing Suicide Squad to become that country’s top-grossing American film release of 2016.
