“Samurai! Daycare” Zooms Past 1,000,000 Views In Less Than A Month
Pipsqueak Film’s new animated web-series, Samurai! Daycare, has carved off an impressive YouTube audience. Streaming exclusively on Smosh’s Shut Up! Cartoons channel, Samurai! Daycare’s total series views have surpassed 1,000,000 in less than a month.
Created by Disney veteran and Emmy nominee Mike Blum (The Adventures of Baxter & McGuire, The Zit) and produced by Pipsqueak Films and SMOSH/Alloy Digital, the 10 episode animated web series features a deluded sword-wielding daycare instructor (Matthew Lillard) who “teaches” a bunch of preschoolers the ways of the samurai.
In addition to Matthew Lillard (The Descendants, Scooby Doo, Scream), this first ever WGA-covered animated web series has attracted a talented cast that includes Bobby Lee (MADtv, Animal Practice) and Cathy Shim (MADtv, Oishi High School Battle). And with lush, hand-painted backgrounds, exquisite production design and refined animation, the series brings network TV-level artistry to the web.
