Tokyo — Veteran Toei Animation executive Katushiro Takagi has been named President, Toei Animation Co., Ltd., effective immediately.  Takagi has been promoted to his new position from Senior Director for the company.

Takagi has been at Toei Animation for more than 30 years and in 2001 he was named Director of Character Licensing Dept. where he helped forge licensing partnerships on behalf of Toei Animation’s major animated brands.  In 2006 he was promoted to Managing Director until his appointment in 2011 to his most recent assignment as Senior Director.

As President of Toei Animation, Takagi will continue to build the studio’s international partnerships and expand the animation leader into new markets with its expansive catalog of renowned animated properties as well as its slate of new programming.
