Top Story: ‘The Wild Robot’ And ‘Arcane’ Lead 52nd Annie Award Nominations

Melbourne, Australia — Film and television production company Galaxy Pop, has commenced production on its latest animated children’s series Get Ace, scheduled to premiere in October 2013 on Network Ten.

This is the second commissioning from Network Ten for the young multi-award winning, writing producing team of Gian Christian and Dina McPherson. Cherrie Bottger, Network Ten’s Head of Children’s Programming said, “Network Ten is thrilled to be in partnership once again with such a talented and passionate team headed by Gian and Dina.”

Get Ace is a zany cartoon comedy series that follows the oddball adventures of Ace McDougal, a nerdy 12 year old school kid, who’s catapulted – teeth-first – into one hair-raising adventure after another when he’s fitted with a set of top-secret, ultra high-tech spy braces. But Ace’s awesome braces come with one big problem – Hugo, a totally obnoxious computer hologram that Ace can’t operate his newfound braces without. So like it or not, they’re a team.

Network Head of Children’s Television at Network TenD“Each action-packed episode of Get Ace is a non stop thrill ride, full of frantic chases, slapstick hijinx, irreverent humour and a wacky cast of characters” said Dina McPherson Co-Founder and Head of Creative at Galaxy Pop.

Galaxy Pop Executive Producer Gian Christian said, “We’re very excited to be producing another series with Cherrie and Network Ten and thrilled our young audience will soon get to join in the antics of Ace and his sidekick Hugo.”

Get Ace is funded by Screen Australia and Film Victoria and will air from October 2013 on Network Ten.
