First 10+ Art Show in DTLA featuring Animation’s Top Talent

LOS ANGELES, CA—Gennie Rim, former Pixar and Disney manager, is the curator of the First 10+Art Show, a passion project assembling artists that she has worked with during her years in the industry. The twelve hand-picked, artist assemblage brings together animation talent from various studios: Blue Sky, Disney, Maverix, Pixar and Wild Brain.
Among the gifted and accomplished ensemble are industry giants: 37-year Disney veteran Glen Keane (The Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Tangled), Bruce Smith (Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, Tarzan), Robert Valley (Gorillaz music videos, The Beatles Rock Band Trailer) and Ed Bell (MTV’s Liquid Television). Also featured are upcoming talents: Jeff Turley, Shiyoon Kim, De’Von Stubblefield, Daniel Arriaga, Joseph Mingoo Lee, Louis Gonzales, Patrick Osborne and Mac George.
Opening reception on Thursday, September 13 at 6pm will be in conjunction with Downtown L.A.’s monthly Art Walk. A portion of proceeds will go to support local youth art organizations: DTLA Art Walk, Ryman Arts, Art Share LA. On Saturday, September 15 from 1-4pm, Robert Reynolds along with Disney artists Bruce Smith and Patrick Osborne (all exhibiting) will be hosting a free Kids Workshop at the Robert Reynolds Gallery catering to children aged 8-18.
The First 10+ Art Show is the debut in a series curated by Gennie Rim that intends to spotlight the art of animation while fostering interest and support for youth arts in Los Angeles. The show runs from September 13-15 alongside the DTLA Art Walk at the Robert Reynolds Gallery located at 408 S. Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013.
