Top Story: ‘The Wild Robot’ And ‘Arcane’ Lead 52nd Annie Award Nominations

The Boss Baby shall from here on be referred to as the Academy Award-nominated masterpiece The Boss Baby.

The Twitterverse is packed with shocked reactions from film critics and fans alike. No one saw it coming apparently, even though we predicted this would happen.

The reactions are understandable. With just a 52% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes, The Boss Baby is the most poorly-reviewed film to be nominated in the Academy’s animated feature category since Shark Tale was nominated in 2005. But whereas in 2005, there were just 11 eligible films, with few standouts, the current slate was packed with amazing animated films that showcased feature animation filmmaking at its finest:
