Explore Our Coverage Of The Oscar-Nominated Animated Features And Shorts
Awards season comes to a close this weekend with the presentation of the Oscars, which makes it an ideal time to review some of our key coverage of this year’s Academy Award-nominated features and shorts.
The animation awards are presented in a matter of minutes, and the Academy has deemed the animation short award so unimportant that it won’t even present it live during its telecast. But at Cartoon Brew, we live and breathe these films, and we’ve been devoting coverage to them throughout the year, in many cases, before the films were even nominated.
Below, we’ve rounded up our profiles of all ten Oscar-nominated films, as covered by site contributors Alex Dudok de Wit, Jen Hurler, Carlos Aguilar, Cole Delaney, and Chris Robinson. This past year has been particularly special due to our partnership with INBTWN Animation, Cartoon Brew’s official online event partner, which has enabled us to expand our coverage to also include video interviews with filmmakers.
