‘Wolfwalkers,’ ‘The Snail And The Whale’ Win Big At BAFTA’s Children & Young People Awards
Back after a three-year hiatus, BAFTA’s Children & Young People Awards took place on Sunday night, at the Old Billingsgate in London.
As it had been three years since the last time the Children & Young People Awards were held, productions which featured an original release in the U.K. between July 1, 2019, and June 30, 2022, were eligible for recognition this year. That’s why a film like Wolfwalkers, released in November 2020, was able to win the feature film award.
Other big winners included BBC One’s The Snail and the Whale, which won both best animation (Magic Light Pictures) and best director/s (Max Lang and Daniel Snaddon). Bluey was recognized as the best international title of the past two-and-a-half years, while Hey Duggee was picked as the top preschool animated program.
