Anime’s Most Popular Secret Agent Family Gets An English-Dubbed Trailer For Their Feature Debut, ‘Spy x Family Code: White’
The first half of 2024 has very little to offer in terms of animated features at the box office, but one of the most popular anime franchises is getting its first feature adaptation just in time to help audiences through the dry spell. Today, Crunchyroll released the English-dubbed trailer for Spy x Family Code: White, which will hit U.S. theaters on April 19.
Sony-owned distributors Crunchyroll and Funimation have proven that recent box office successes for several anime features from popular IPs were not outliers and that U.S. audiences will show up to see their favorite franchises on the big screen. Crunchyroll and Funimation distributed films such as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train ($49.5 million), Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero ($38.1 million), Jujutsu Kaisen 0 ($ 34.5 million), My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission ($13.3 million) and One Piece Film: Red ($12.8 million) all set franchise records in the U.S. over the past four years.
We’re excited to see how audiences respond to the first theatrical feature from the hugely popular Spy x Family franchise. Although this franchise is much newer than the ones listed above, expectations are and should be, high for the film.
