Obama Thanks Japan for Anime
On behalf of young Americans, Barack Obama thanked Japan yesterday for giving us anime, among other Japanese exports like manga, karate, karaoke, and emoji. Watch his remarks, which were made on the occasion of a visit from the prime minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe:
Despite Obama’s allegiance to great American animators, he is also supposedly a fan of anime. While not known what, if any, anime he might actually watch, there’s an entire meme devoted to speculating on Obama’s preferences by Photoshopping him with various anime characters.
