Watch The Trailer For ‘Jurassic World: Chaos Theory,’ A Sequel Series To Dreamworks And Netflix’s Annie-Winning ‘Camp Cretaceous’

Netflix’s Annie and Daytime Emmy-winning animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous is getting a sequel series set six years after the events of the original show. Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, which got a new trailer today, will debut ten 22-minute episodes on Netflix on May 24.

Taipei studio CGCG, a long-time Dreamworks partner that worked on shows including Camp Cretaceous, Curses!, Abominable and the Invisible City, Dragons: The Nine Realms, and Trollhunters, is back to animate the new show.

Camp Cretaceous was a sleeper hit for Netflix. Although it may not be talked about as much as some of its other kids’ content, it was popular with subscribers and won several important awards during its five-season run.

The show was also fairly progressive for kids’ content and included a scene in which two female characters kissed, which caused a stir in some Arab states where that type of normal human behavior isn’t always accepted.

Here’s what we know about Chaos Theory:

• Jurassic World: Chaos Theory is executive produced and showrun by Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley, both of whom worked on the first show. Other executive producers include Steven Spielberg, Colin Trevorrow, and Frank Marshall. Zesung Kang is the show’s supervising producer.
• A synopsis shared by Netflix reads: “Set six years after the events at Camp Cretaceous, members of “The Nublar Six” are struggling to find their footing off the islands, navigating a world now filled with dinosaurs and people who want to hurt them. Reunited in the wake of a tragedy, the group comes together only to find themselves on the run and catapulted into a global adventure to unravel a conspiracy that threatens dinosaur and humankind alike and finally learn the truth about what happened to one of their own.”
