Ken Duncan Shares Never-Before-Seen Photos From 90s-Era Disney Productions
Animator Ken Duncan, who was a key figure during the Disney resurgence of the 1990s, is sharing some memorable animation history via his Instagram account.
Duncan is posting a series of behind-the-scene photos of his fellow animators from features such as Hercules, Tarzan, The Emperor’s New Groove, and Treasure Planet.
The artists are shown in their natural environment, hard at work drawing in their offices. Duncan also added captions to each image where he details his relationship with each animator and where they are now, in a way paying homage to these creators who so often don’t receive proper credit for their contributions.
Back in 2007, Duncan founded Duncan Studio, which most recently created the 2d animation sequences for Mary Poppins Returns. Duncan’s studio also animated the new scenes for the signature edition of Brad Bird’s The Iron Giant. His studio announced in April that it would broaden its mission and develop an original slate of content.
